Announcements - Friday, November 14, 2025

The boys and girls bowling teams had an outstanding performance at the Lamp Tiger Classic Bowling Tournament.  The girls finished third and the boys were the tournament champions. Top Bowlers: Calista Baggett: 144, Brynn Standridge: 145, Micheal Stokes: 241, Lane Wilson: 247

Math Team fees and Quiz Bowl Fees are both due Friday, Nov. 21.  You can pay by cash or check to Mrs. Cleiland or pay via PayPams.

As we celebrate the season of thankfulness, we would love to hear from you! Please fill out the Google form sent to you via Student Square to recognize any teachers that have made a difference in your life. You need to fill out a separate form for each teacher you would like to recognize. Forms are due by Tuesday, November 18. Thank you, students! 

 Juniors & Seniors: If you are scheduled to take Dual Enrollment for Human Anatomy & Physiology, Pre-Calculus, or English 102 next semester, we will meet on November 19 in the Hungry Hive with Southern Union State Community College representatives. Seniors will meet at 9:00 a.m., and Juniors at 9:45 a.m.  If you have not already applied for Southern Union, you must do so before the meeting date. https://www.suscc.edu/ Please direct any questions to Mrs. Kirby.  

Students interested in participating in outdoor track and field, please stop by and see Coach Ford or Coach Lake to sign up by November 21

Students interested in being on the Golf team, please see Coach Hardie to sign up. Freshman can see him when he is in Coach Thomas’s classroom in the FX during third block.

The BHS Auxiliary Team is getting ready for tryouts for the 2026-2027 season, and we want you there! The auxiliary team includes Flag Line, Dance Line, and Baton Line, and is open to all students who are currently in 8th-11th grades.  To find out the details about tryouts, sign-up to attend the Tryout Interest Meeting on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 6:00 p.m. Find the posters hung up around the campus and use your Chromebook to scan the QR code. Questions? Ask Ms. Alsobrook or Mr. Hillsman!

The first HOSA blood drive of the year will be Wednesday, Nov. 19. If you would like to sign up, see Mr. Goldmann for a time and other information. Ages 16 and younger need parental permission.  You will not be able to sign up on the day of the blood drive, so be sure to sign up ahead of time!

The Beat Bama Food Drive continues through November 18. Most needed foods include: peanut butter, canned meats, vegetables, soups, stews, rice, pastas, and cereals. The 1st Block class that collects the most canned items during this time will receive a Krispy Kreme Doughnut Party! 

 The Hungry Hive is serving: Pizza, Sweet Potato Fries, Buttered Broccoli OR Easy Jammer, Fruit, Juice & Milk

Breakfast on Monday: Cinni Minis OR Cereal & Toast OR Grab & Go Breakfast Bags, Fruit, Juice & Milk; Ice cream and snacks are on sale daily!

Parking Passes: Students who are parking on campus must purchase a hang tag.  Please see Mrs. Barge in the Blue/Gold office to purchase.  You will need to show your driver’s license, proof of insurance and know your car tag number.  Cost is $20 cash or check; or pay via PayPams online.

Parents/Guardians, make sure you get the Powerschool App so you can keep track of how your child is doing in school. The app allows you to see grades and attendance, communicate with the teacher via email, get notifications when your child is marked absent, see what classes in which your child is enrolled, and more.
